Across the Sound

A little more than a year ago I heard Joe Jaffe speak at a Creativity Atlanta conference. He talked about his passions, the combination of new media and creativity, and made a good impression on me.

Now, he and Steve Rubel have teamed up to produce Across the Sound, a series of podcasts in which they banter a bit (maybe a bit too much), give some insight into what they're blogging about, and focus on a weekly theme. They're still finding their way, but on the whole it's good stuff.

That's high praise from someone who spends little time listening to podcasts. The format's too linear and often too lengthy for my tastes. I lean toward media that let me scan for content and quickly take away what I want. Generally, that isn't a podcast.

However, I like what Rubel and Jaffe are doing. They have an advantage in that they're already known quantities to me, so getting me to listen the first time was easier than it might be for lesser lights. But if there weren't some jewels in their program I wouldn't have subscribed and continued to listen.
